Homelessness
Homelessness (Harm Reduction & Housing-First Approach)
Homelessness is a complex and multifaceted issue rooted in poverty, housing shortages, trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use. At Not Alone, we approach homelessness through a harm-reduction and housing-first lens, recognizing that stable housing and basic needs are essential foundations for health, recovery, and well-being.
Our programs focus on meeting immediate needs without judgment or conditions. We provide access to nutritious food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and essential supports to help reduce harm and promote safety, dignity, and stability for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Not Alone recognizes that each person’s journey is unique. We respect individual choice and autonomy while fostering trust and connection. Through collaboration with shelters, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and social service organizations, we support pathways to stable housing, health care, mental health services, and addiction supports when individuals are ready.
Our trauma-informed and inclusive approach reduces barriers to accessing services and prioritizes safety, respect, and empowerment. By addressing immediate needs while supporting long-term stability, Not Alone contributes to healthier outcomes and stronger community connections for individuals experiencing homelessness.
